She says that her way to get over the grief is to celebrate their life by writing about the good, the funny and even the aggravating stories of their life!  What a great idea.

My friend, a retired lady loved her dog, Jodi so much and they were best friends. When Jodi passed away she was heart broken. Jodi was an Old English Sheep Dog and these can be very pricey. Mae became a widow at aged forty with three young children to raise on her own and would never be able to purchase one of these dogs.

Together, we went on an expedition to find another dog to fill the void. Before long, a dog was offered to her named Bodi. What a shame that many people only want puppies and have no use for the adult dog. We picked Bodi up in Burlington Ontario and Mae became the best of friends for the next nine years.

During the past two years, Bodi has had some health problems and two operations have helped keep him going. He is still cheerful, but Mae knows that soon Bodi will not be with her. She makes sure that he only is fed the prescription food from the vet and is always watchful of his health.

“Bringing home a friend “fur” life”….

Your family has decided to add an animal in need to your family and it’s a noble; and it’s a great thing to do. You may or may not know however, some of the things required to make your adoption a success, not only for you, but for your new friend too.

Since many of these animals have come from situations they’d soon forget, many adoption centres have instituted a list of requirements you should be prepared for in order to adopt. They aren’t being unfair to you, but rather ensuring that both you and your pet are properly matched.

I-am an animal. I am a dog. I am your dog. I am a certain breed of dog. I am your pet. As your pet, you have given me a name.

When people treat their dogs as humans, they do them no favor. This treatment is strictly for their selfish reasons. Dogs need to be dogs first.

O sure, dog have wonderful qualities such as trust, loyalty, and love. But, you still need to respect your dog’s natural heritage. You should never take that away from a dog.

Animal: First and foremost I am an animal. I have animal instincts and animal attributes. If you do not allow me to be an animal, you are putting me into an unnatural state of being. Or, as Cesar Millan says, you are putting me out of my natural balance. You really need to allow me to be what I am supposed to be according to nature. Mother Nature herself!

Dog: I am also a dog, and as a dog I also have certain attributes. One of them is: I travel in packs. My pack has a leader and I am a follower, (unless I am the dog pack leader that is). Otherwise I follow. It comes natural to me.
