Saying Goodby To My Katie Bear

Katie And Sammy Were 24/7 Companions and Friends
I knew that the inevitable day was approaching though, Katie, now 14 years old, was very sick and I was having to carry her up and down the stairs, not the easiest of tasks but one I daresay many dog owners have carried out.
Only a fellow dog/pet owner can appreciate the sheer heartache that final decision brings. It is the last chapter you must complete for your faithful friend and boy it hurts like hell. You convince yourself that they are doing fine, a bit wobbly, a bit older but they are happy and they are coping. When you really know the truth but kind of push it to the back of your mind. It Starts With Katie Bear, My First Golden Retriever
We named her Katie, soon to be nicknamed ‘Katie Bear’. The bear came into play because when Katie scrunched her gorgeous face up it became all wrinkly, giving her the appearance of a big, expensive, plush stuffed and cuddly bear.
She was a wonderful companion for Chris, my husband who had MS. All the neighbourhood children loved her to bits. She was just so friendly and loving to everyone that I made the decision to let her become a Therapy Dog. Katie was the perfect choice for this as she was so calm and loving, all the seniors loved her visiting and looked forward to seeing her.
She was such an interactive dog, with a love for the water and for life in general. She touched everyone she met as she was such a larger than life character but so gentle with it.
When life became worse with Chris and he had his ‘bad days’ Katie was my salvation, always there for me. If I had a bad day at work or if life itself was overwhelming me, I knew I could always rely on ‘my Katie Bear’ to be by my side.
Due to her being so friendly with other dogs we adopted Sam affectionately known as ‘Sammy’, to keep her company during playtimes. They became the very best of friends and were an instant hit with each other.
Sammy… Actually, Sammy adopted us first. He was the most amazing dog. A gift from above for sure!

One of the best ways to get a puppy for free is to go to a puppy adoption center and adopt a puppy. Not only will you get a dog for free if you adopt a puppy from the puppy adoption center, you also help some poor little fellow find a home. Just think of how happy that little beagle will be if you take it out of the beagle puppy adoption center and bring it home.
Although adopting a puppy is a good idea, you should be extra careful when it comes to selecting puppies at the puppy adoption center. Bear in mind that most dogs that are rescued have gone through a lot of bad experiences in the past which made then wary about trusting people, especially strangers like you. Since most of these puppies have not really been treated well in the past, many of these are sick and may need a lot of medical attention. To make sure that you get the right puppy from the puppy adoption center, here are some things that you need to do before you decide to bring the puppy home.
